Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure structural maintenance services for the Enseleni Water Pump Station. The aim is to ensure the water station is maintained to meet safety, operational, and structural standards, including repairs, installations, and site upgrades.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses comprehensive maintenance activities at the Enseleni Water Pump Station, including:

• Site assessment and risk evaluation prior to commencement
• Striping and disposal of damaged doors, ceilings, pipes, and other damaged materials
• Supply and installation of new doors, locks, blinds, window tinting, fencing, and lighting cages
• Roof, wall, and floor cleaning and painting
• Plumbing repairs, leak investigations, and fixture replacements
• Electrical inspections, repairs, and fixture replacements
• Construction of fences and gates, including razor wire installation
• Site clearance and waste disposal post-maintenance

The scope also includes compliance with safety standards, site management, and adherence to contractual timelines.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All work must follow relevant safety standards and procedures, including PPE usage and site safety signage.
• Work must be executed in accordance with the latest SANS codes and specifications.
• All materials used must be verified and approved by the project leader before installation.
• Work must include proper site assessment, level verification, and adherence to approved methods and schedules.
• All electrical and plumbing work must comply with applicable legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
• Site clearance and waste disposal must be completed to the satisfaction of the project leader, with no burying of waste permitted.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

Suppliers and contractors must possess:

• A CIDB grading of 1GB or higher, or equivalent as per Construction Industry Development Regulations.
• Proof of previous experience in building maintenance, including certificates or reference letters for similar projects.
• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), with the CSD number provided.
• Valid Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Qualified personnel with experience in site supervision, electrical, plumbing, and construction works.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including submission of an OHS file and safety induction.
• Capability to execute the scope within the specified contract period of 3 weeks.
