Objectives

The primary objective is to secure professional services for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a reliable nurses call system at Gamalakhe Community Health Centre. The system is intended to enhance patient safety, streamline emergency communication, and ensure consistent ward-level alert mechanisms across all clinical areas.

Scope of Work

The contractor will execute a three-week contract comprising one week of preparatory lead time and two weeks of on-site execution. Responsibilities include supplying all necessary materials, installing wiring and hardware per approved drawings, and conducting comprehensive functional tests. Specific tasks involve inspecting push cords and bedside units, verifying alarm activation, measuring cable impedance, testing power supplies and backup battery systems, validating over-door indicator lights, and ensuring main control panels operate correctly. Upon completion, the contractor must submit detailed ward-specific reports, service certificates, and maintenance schedules. All work must adhere to the Department of Health’s standard trade preambles and require daily site cleanup and debris removal.

Technical Requirements

All materials must hold national quality certification and receive prior clearance from the facility’s maintenance supervisor. Installation strictly prohibits unauthorised use of heavy demolition tools or cutting of existing electrical or network cables without explicit written permission. The system must undergo rigorous electrical and functional validation, including voltage stability checks, earth leakage testing, and impedance measurements. Contractors must compile and submit a comprehensive workplace safety file containing baseline and task-based risk assessments, a site-specific safety plan, emergency procedures, equipment inspection logs, personal protective equipment registers, and proof of statutory safety appointments. A certified technician must oversee the final service and issue a formal Certificate of Compliance.
