Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the service of oxygen and vacuum plants at Imbalenhle Community Health Centre. The service aims to ensure proper maintenance, servicing, and operational readiness of the medical gas systems to support healthcare delivery.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing and maintenance of oxygen and vacuum plants at Imbalenhle Community Health Centre.
• Preventative maintenance as per attached specifications and checklists.
• Annual servicing of medical gas systems including inspection, cleaning, testing, and safety checks.
• Provision of reports and compliance with standards such as SANS.
• Completion of all tasks in accordance with the detailed specifications and checklist provided by the institution.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to the attached detailed specifications and checklist for servicing oxygen and vacuum plants.
• Compliance with quality standards such as SANS.
• Proper inspection, cleaning, leak testing, and safety checks of all components including pressure gauges, safety valves, pig-tails, and filters.
• Replacement of O-rings and worn parts as necessary.
• Verification of system pressures, operation of change-over systems, and safety systems.
• Completion of servicing reports and documentation as per prescribed formats.
• Use of qualified artisans with relevant certifications and registration (e.g., SAQCC Gas registration in category B).

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• Certified artisans with relevant experience in servicing medical gas systems.
• Registration with the South African Qualification and Certification Committee (SAQCC) in category B for gas systems.
• Knowledge of medical gas standards, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, checklists, and service reports.
• Capacity to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs if needed.
• Proven track record of servicing similar medical gas systems in healthcare facilities.
