Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the maintenance and servicing of oxygen and vacuum plants at Imbalenhle Community Health Centre (CHC). The focus is on ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and compliance of medical gas systems through preventative maintenance, thereby supporting the hospital's healthcare delivery and safety standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing and maintenance of oxygen and vacuum plants at Imbalenhle CHC.
• Preventative maintenance activities as per the detailed specifications and checklists provided.
• Compliance with relevant standards such as SANS.
• Provision of technical support, inspection, and reporting on the condition of the systems.
• Adherence to scheduled service intervals, typically annual, with detailed checklists for inspection and maintenance tasks.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Servicing of oxygen and vacuum systems, including cleaning, leak checks, pressure checks, safety valve operation, and system inspection.
• Replacement of O-rings and other wear parts as necessary.
• Verification of system pressure, safety systems, and warning panels.
• Inspection of compressors, dryers, filters, and associated equipment.
• Completion of detailed checklists and reports post-service.
• Compliance with the attached specifications, standards (SANS), and safety protocols.
• Provision of documentation including service reports, certificates, and compliance proof.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified and experienced technicians, including artisans with relevant certifications (e.g., SAQCC Gas Registration).
• Proven experience in servicing medical gas systems, particularly oxygen and vacuum plants in healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS and safety regulations.
• Ability to complete detailed inspection checklists and generate compliance reports.
• Capacity to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and emergency response if required.
• Familiarity with hospital safety protocols and infection control standards.
