Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver plumbing and electrical items to Imbalenhle Community Health Centre (CHC). The procurement aims to ensure the availability of quality plumbing and electrical materials necessary for maintenance and operational needs of the facility, supporting efficient healthcare service delivery.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a comprehensive range of plumbing and electrical items as specified in the tender documents. This includes items such as geysers, pipes, conduits, switches, sockets, circuit breakers, and other related components required for plumbing and electrical installations and repairs at Imbalenhle CHC. The procurement covers all necessary specifications, standards, and quality requirements to meet the operational needs of the health facility.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to the specifications detailed in the annexure, including compliance with SANS standards.
• All plumbing items (e.g., geysers, pipes, connectors, taps, rubber cones, PVC glue, etc.) must meet specified sizes, materials, and quality standards.
• Electrical items (e.g., switches, circuit breakers, conduit cables, plugs, sockets, earth leakage circuit breakers, etc.) must meet the specified technical standards, including voltage, current ratings, and safety standards.
• Items must be new, unused, and of the latest models or current standards.
• Items must be supplied with appropriate warranties (e.g., 5-year warranty on geysers).
• All items should be packaged securely to prevent damage during transit and comply with delivery and documentation requirements.
• Delivery must be completed within the specified period, typically 7-14 days after order receipt.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Suppliers must demonstrate technical competence in manufacturing or sourcing plumbing and electrical components that meet South African standards (SANS).
• Bidder’s personnel should have knowledge of plumbing and electrical standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.
• Suppliers should have experience in supplying to government or healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and technical specifications.
• Ability to provide technical support, documentation, and warranty services post-delivery.
• Competence in handling documentation, compliance certificates, and adherence to procurement and safety regulations.
