Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of low voltage cables to Knysna Municipality, ensuring the provision of quality electrical cables that meet specified technical standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various types of low voltage cables, including:

• Split connecting cables with neutral and earth conductors for multiple earth neutral systems (e.g., 10mm SNE with pilot/communication wire)
• Insulated ABC cables of 50mm x 3 and 70mm x 3 sizes (400-1000V)
• 16mm x 2 core PVC SWA copper cables (1000V)
• 16mm x 4 core PVC SWA copper cables (1000V)

The delivery is to be completed once a purchase order is received, with the RFQ not exceeding R300,000.00.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Cables must be insulated, ABC insulated, and suitable for low voltage applications (400-1000V)
• Conformity to specified sizes and insulation standards
• Proper packaging to prevent damage during transit
• Compliance with relevant safety and quality standards as per municipal and national regulations
• Delivery within the stipulated period after receipt of the purchase order

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Registration on the Knysna Municipality’s Accredited Supplier Database and the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
• Valid CIDB registration with a minimum validity period of 90 days
• Tax compliance status, including submission of a Tax Clearance Certificate valid for one year
• Proof of B-BBEE status level verification (if claiming preference points)
• Completion of relevant declarations and affidavits, including conflict of interest and supply chain management practices
• Experience in supplying electrical cables and related electrical infrastructure
• Understanding of municipal procurement procedures and compliance with the Supply Chain Management Regulations

Overall, bidders should possess the technical capability, legal compliance, and experience necessary to supply high-quality low voltage cables efficiently and within the specified timeframe.
