Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and installation of split, under ceiling, and shifted fan coil units for air conditioning at uShaka Marine World. The project aims to enhance the air conditioning system by replacing and installing specified units across various locations within the facility, ensuring improved climate control and operational efficiency.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of seven 36,000 BTU split air conditioning units (under ceiling).
• Supply and installation of split air conditioning units of various sizes (24,000 BTU, 18,000 BTU, 12,000 BTU, 9,000 BTU).
• Shifting and reinstalling one fan coil unit in the CEO’s office, including associated piping, cabling, and building work.
• Installation of cabling, isolator switches, and connections to relevant distribution boards, with certification (CoC) required for installations.
• Relocation of specific units within designated areas, ensuring proper connection to existing chilled water systems and drainage.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements include:

• Supply and installation of units with specified BTU ratings as per locations listed (e.g., ozone plantrooms, Dolphin screen, Wet n Wild staff canteen, offices).
• Use of R410A gas for split units.
• Proper installation of cabling, concealed where possible, and connection to existing electrical systems.
• Shifting of the fan coil unit with all associated building work, piping, lagging (no Armaflex required), and drainage connection within 5 meters radius.
• Compliance with health and safety standards as per OSH Act and Building Standards Act 103 of 1977.
• Provision of a valid CoC certificate for all installations.
• Adherence to project timelines, with completion within one month of order placement.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Proven experience in air conditioning system supply and installation, particularly with split and under ceiling units.
• Qualified technicians capable of executing electrical connections, piping, and building works related to HVAC systems.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including the ability to furnish a safety file if not already available on-site.
• Certification and valid CoC for installation work.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, including the use of R410A refrigerant and proper concealment of cabling.
• Ability to coordinate with site management and adhere to strict deadlines and milestones.
