Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, dismantle, store, refurbish, install, and maintain a 3-meter electrical free-standing Santa sculpture at uShaka Marine World. The project aims to ensure the safe installation, proper refurbishment, and ongoing maintenance of the Santa light sculpture, which is owned by uShaka Marine World, to enhance the festive display and visitor experience.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supplying the 3-meter Santa light sculpture with outdoor LED lighting (white and red) and tinsel.
• Striking down the existing structure and removing it into storage.
• Providing storage facilities for the sculpture.
• Refurbishing the sculpture as needed.
• Installing the refurbished Santa structure safely, in compliance with city bylaws.
• Maintaining the electrical and structural integrity of the Santa sculpture during the contract period.
• Providing necessary heavy-duty cable wire covers, pipeline coatings, cable protectors, and insurance for compliance and safety.

The work also involves ensuring all supplied items become property of uShaka Marine World, except fencing, and signing off on safety and structural compliance before removal into storage.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Supply of a 3m Santa light sculpture with LED lighting and tinsel.
• Use of outdoor LED lighting with specified colors (white and red).
• Structural support via a curved truss structure.
• Protection of steel pipelines with polyethylene (HDPE) sheath coatings.
• Heavy-duty cable wire covers and cable protectors capable of withstanding temperatures up to 55°C.
• Compliance with safety standards and city bylaws for installation.
• Provision of insurance coverage for health and safety compliance.
• Sign-off of structural and electrical specifications prior to removal into storage.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Experience in handling outdoor electrical light sculptures and structural installations.
• Capability to supply heavy-duty electrical wiring, cable management, and pipeline coatings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and city bylaws related to structural and electrical installations.
• Ability to refurbish and maintain electrical lighting structures.
• Competence in project management, including timely delivery, installation, and sign-off procedures.
• Provision of insurance and health & safety compliance documentation.
• Availability to attend site briefings and adhere to specified timelines.
