Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, dismantle, store, refurbish, install, and maintain a 3-meter electrical free-standing Santa sculpture at uShaka Marine World. The project aims to ensure the safe installation, proper refurbishment, and ongoing maintenance of the Santa light sculpture, including associated electrical and structural components, in compliance with relevant safety and legal standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of the 3-meter Santa light sculpture, owned by uShaka Marine World.
• Dismantling (strike down) of the existing structure.
• Provision of secure storage for the sculpture and related items.
• Refurbishment of the sculpture, including electrical lighting and structural components.
• Installation of the refurbished Santa sculpture on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and city bylaws.
• Provision of ongoing maintenance and electrical servicing for the sculpture.
• Supply of necessary accessories such as heavy-duty cable wire covers, pipeline coatings, and cable protectors.
• Provision of insurance coverage for all supplied items and work activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of outdoor LED lighting (white and red) with tinsel decoration.
• Structural framework based on a curved truss structure.
• Heavy-duty cable wiring and protective sheathing (HDPE polyethylene sheath) for steel pipelines.
• Cable protectors capable of withstanding temperatures up to 55°C.
• Compliance with city bylaws and safety standards for installation.
• Sign-off of structural and lighting specifications prior to storage removal.
• Provision of insurance and health & safety measures for all activities.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in installing and refurbishing outdoor electrical sculptures and light structures.
• Capability to handle heavy-duty electrical wiring, pipeline coatings, and structural assembly.
• Knowledge of city bylaws and safety regulations related to outdoor installations.
• Ability to provide comprehensive maintenance and electrical servicing.
• Competence in project management, including timely delivery, site safety, and compliance documentation.
• Provision of insurance coverage and health & safety compliance documentation.
• Qualified personnel with relevant technical certifications and experience in outdoor lighting and structural installations.
