Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, install, and commission geyser accessories to ensure the full functionality of all 21 geyser units located in Block D & E of Pharoe Park Complex. The project aims to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of the geysers, supporting the broader mandate of the Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) to manage affordable rental housing for lower-income households.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of all necessary geyser accessories, including copper pipes, connectors, gaskets, safety valves, thermostats, and valves.
• Installation of accessories on 21 geyser units, ensuring compliance with relevant plumbing standards and safety regulations.
• Testing and commissioning of the installed accessories to confirm full functionality.
• Handover of the fully operational geysers to the client.

The work must be completed within three months from the contract award date, with all installations tested and operational upon completion.

Technical Requirements

• The contractor must have active CIDB status with a grading of 1ME or higher.
• Supply and install 15 mm copper pipes (3 meters per geyser unit).
• Install specified connectors: 15 mm and 22 mm 90° bend connectors (8 per unit), and 15 mm and 22 mm straight connectors (6 per unit).
• Supply and fit geyser gaskets (Kwikot and Heatech types), safety valves, thermostats, and Kwikot valves.
• Install and test geyser elements (Kwikot and Heatech, 3kW), ensuring proper operation.
• All work must adhere to plumbing standards and safety regulations, with proper testing and commissioning of all accessories.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in plumbing, geyser installation, and commissioning.
• Ability to supply and install plumbing components according to technical specifications.
• Compliance with safety standards and regulations related to plumbing and electrical installations.
• Capacity to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
• Active CIDB grading of 1ME or higher.

Additionally, bidders must provide proof of financial stability (e.g., recent bank statements showing positive cash flow or access to short-term finance) and relevant company registration details.
