Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider for the supply and installation of emergency lighting and communication systems. Specifically, the provider will supply and install blue/red emergency roof-mounted bar LED lights, blue LED grille lights, blue LED strobe lights, siren amplifiers, and a public address system in designated vehicles. The overarching goal is to enhance the safety, visibility, and communication capabilities of cross-border road transport operators, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of blue/red emergency roof-mounted bar LED lights, blue LED grille lights, and blue LED strobe lights on specified vehicles:
• Ten (10) VW Polo 1.6L Sedans
• Two (2) VW T-ROC 2.0L TSI Sedans
• Two (2) VW LDV (4x4) double cab bakkies
• Provision of siren amplifiers and a public address system with specified features and compliance standards.
• Installation to be carried out either at the bidder’s premises (within 40 km of C-BRTA) or at the C-BRTA premises located at 350 Witch-Hazel Avenue, Centurion, depending on the location of the bidder.
• Completion of installation within ten (10) days of receiving an official purchase order.

• Features include night mode, cruise mode, public address facility, and switchable response lights

Blue LED Grille Lights

• High-intensity surface mount LEDs, 6 LEDs per head
• IP69K waterproof rating, compliant with SANS 1046 and SABS 1376 standards
• Deep blue color, 12V DC voltage, durable aluminium base

Blue LED Strobe Lights

• Surface-mounted on rear windows, IP67/IP68 rated
• Flashing rate: 60-120 flashes per minute, up to 2.2–8 Hz SAE standard
• Features include synchronization, multiple flash patterns, and memory function
• Voltage: 12V DC

Skills Requirements

• Technicians must have relevant experience in installing emergency lighting and communication systems, with a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience preferred.
• Technicians must provide CVs demonstrating appropriate expertise in installing LED lights, siren amplifiers, and public address systems.
• Proof of technical competence, including relevant test reports (SANAS/SANS), must be submitted.
• Warranties of five (5) years on products, labor, and installations are required, with proof of compliance provided via signed confirmation letters.
• Bidder must declare that supplied products are tested and compliant with relevant standards.
