Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure ecological services, including comprehensive assessments and management planning for the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens and Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve. The aim is to develop an integrated management plan that incorporates cultural, heritage, social, and environmental considerations, aligned with best national and international practices. Additionally, the project seeks to identify potential commercial activities, assess site values, and address challenges and opportunities within the conservation areas.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Desktop study reviewing existing information on the two nature reserves.
• Field assessments and data collection focusing on cultural, heritage, and social aspects.
• Stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
• Preparation of a detailed management plan, including an integrated activity plan for community involvement and partnerships.
• Identification of potential commercial activities and assessment of cultural, social, heritage, and historical values of each site.
• Analysis of challenges, interventions, and opportunities for conservation and community engagement.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Completion of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), pricing, and specifications.
• Mandatory site briefing scheduled for 04 December 2025 at Johannesburg Botanical Gardens.
• Provision of a methodology summary for data collection.
• Submission of relevant compliance documents, including municipal statements, COIDA certificates, joint venture agreements (if applicable), and regulatory compliance.
• Adherence to evaluation criteria, including response within seven days of request, and submission of completed forms such as MBD 1, MBD 3, MBD 4, MBD 6.1, MBD 8, and MBD 9.
• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) if not already registered.
