Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure employee transportation services for Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) over a period of 7 days. The services aim to ensure reliable, safe, and compliant transport for employees across various shifts and routes, supporting operational efficiency and punctuality.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of transportation services for employees for a duration of 7 days.
• Adherence to designated routes, shift patterns, and operational requirements.
• Support for ad-hoc transportation needs as requested by TPT.
• Provision of vehicles that are licensed, roadworthy, and equipped with necessary safety features.
• Compliance with safety, security, and statutory regulations.
• Implementation of business continuity and strike management plans.
• Provision of driver profiles, insurance, and fleet security measures.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope encompasses:

• Vehicles must be properly licensed, registered, and roadworthy, with valid permits and certificates.
• Provision of a minimum fleet including 10 x 65-seater buses, 3 x 35-seater minibuses, 11 x 22-seater taxis, and 6 x 13-seater taxis.
• Vehicles must be fitted with GPS/Tracker systems and communication devices.
• Drivers must hold valid public driving permits, licenses, and have clean criminal records.
• Drivers must undergo annual medical checks and adhere to safety protocols, including PPE and vehicle safety standards.
• Business continuity plans must include contingency staffing, strike management, emergency protocols, and geographical proximity to the operational area.
• Insurance coverage must include passenger liability, general liability, and fleet insurance with specified minimum coverages.
• Vehicles should be suitable for passenger transport, with regular safety inspections and adherence to safety signage and speed limits.
