Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure NDT Level III services specializing in PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) to support SAAT’s operations. The selected service provider will provide qualified and certified Level III consultancy, including training, assessment, procedure verification, and technical support, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (EN4179 and NAS 410) and regulatory requirements. This is essential to maintain operational licenses, regulatory compliance, and the continued capability of SAAT’s NDT department until internal Level III personnel are trained.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of NDT Level III consultancy services for PAUT, including monthly retainer or as agreed.
• Conducting regular audits and assessments of facilities, equipment, procedures, and personnel.
• Training and evaluating NDT personnel towards certification per EN4179 and/or NAS 410 standards.
• Preparation, verification, and approval of PAUT procedures and work instructions.
• Performing yearly practical assessments of NDT personnel, including eye tests.
• Providing technical support via telephone and email, including urgent queries within 48 hours.
• Interpreting codes, standards, and contractual documents related to PAUT.
• Assuming technical responsibility for PAUT activities and staff.
• Assisting in selecting appropriate test methods and techniques for specific tests.
• Possessing general knowledge of other NDT methods and manufacturing/test technologies.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must:

• Be qualified and certified in accordance with EN4179 and/or NAS 410 standards.
• Have proven experience with PAUT, demonstrated through three successful case studies and reference letters.
• Be capable of providing training, examination, and certification of NDT personnel.
• Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and contractual documents controlling PAUT.
• Be reachable telephonically and via email for technical support, including urgent queries within 48 hours.
• Assume technical responsibility for PAUT activities and personnel.

Skills Requirements

The ideal service provider should possess:

• Certification and qualification in PAUT per EN4179 and NAS 410 standards.
• Extensive experience in PAUT, with documented successful case studies.
• Ability to conduct audits, assessments, and training aligned with international standards.
• Strong communication skills for technical support and coordination.
