The primary objective of this tender is to procure an ultrasonic spray coater system, specifically the USI Prism 400, to support Mintek’s Advanced Materials Division in fuel cell research. The new system aims to replace the aging USI Prism 300 unit, ensuring reliable fabrication of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs), maintaining data integrity, and supporting South Africa’s fuel cell manufacturing capabilities without interruption.
The scope involves the supply of a fully functional ultrasonic spray coater system that meets the detailed technical specifications provided. The system will be installed at Mintek’s premises located at 200 Malibongwe Drive, Strydom Park, Randburg. The procurement includes system hardware, software, training, support, and warranty services, with evaluation based on technical compliance, functionality, price, and specific goals such as local ownership and B-BBEE status.
