Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure all labour, materials, fittings, and equipment necessary for the installation of concrete palisade fencing at various municipal sites within the Dawid Kruiper Municipality, specifically at Station Cemetery and Kalksloot Cemetery in Upington.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of all labour, materials, fittings, and equipment required for the installation of concrete palisade fencing.
• Installation at specified sites: Station Cemetery and Kalksloot Cemetery.
• Manufacture, supply, and erection of concrete palisade fencing according to detailed specifications.
• Completion of the project by 31 March 2026.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the project include:

• Concrete elements must be sound, free of defects, with an off-shutter finish on three sides and a wood-floated finish on the fourth.
• Reinforcement steel must be high-yield, minimum strength 410 MPa, and free from rust or contaminants.
• Concrete compressive strength must be at least 40 MPa at 28 days.
• Concrete posts must have minimum dimensions of 70mm, with top edges angled at 45° and slotting to accommodate horizontal load-bearing rails.
• Pales must be 70mm with angled top and bottom edges at 45°, with specific hole configurations for bolts.
• Rails to be 1.990m long, 75mm high, 150mm wide, with holes for bolts, to be grouted into posts.
• All bolts and fasteners must be electro-galvanised, with ends burred and holes filled with cement mortar.
• Post foundations should be 600mm diameter, 400mm deep, with minimum concrete strength of 25 MPa.
• Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel, with supply of all necessary tools and supervision.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in manufacturing and installing concrete palisade fencing according to specified standards.
• Capability to produce concrete elements with the required quality and finish.
• Proficiency in site installation, including foundation work, assembly, and erection of fencing.
• Availability of skilled personnel for supervision, technical assistance, and quality control.
• Ability to manage logistics, transportation, and storage of materials on-site.
