Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the technical supply and infrastructure development for the EV Charging Power Supply at Komati Power Station, ensuring compliance with Eskom’s standards, local content, and safety requirements. The aim is to establish a reliable, compliant, and efficient EV charging infrastructure aligned with Eskom’s strategic and operational needs.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Design, supply, and installation of EV charging power supply infrastructure at Komati Power Station.
• Provision of all related technical, safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
• Compliance with local content and import content declarations.
• Adherence to Eskom’s contractual, legal, and technical specifications.
• Provision of necessary documentation, certifications, and supporting evidence as specified in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Design and installation of EV charging power supply infrastructure compliant with Eskom standards.
• Adherence to ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
• Implementation of safety management systems aligned with ISO 45001:2018, including OHS plans, risk assessments, and incident management.
• Provision of quality control plans, contract quality plans, and evidence of quality management system operation.
• Compliance with local content and imported content declarations, including supporting schedules and certificates.
• Application of Contract Price Adjustment (CPA) mechanisms for local and foreign goods/services.
• Adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, including mandatory safety documentation and plans.

Skills and Competency Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• CIDB contractor grading of 2EP or higher for electrical infrastructure works.
• Proven experience in designing and installing EV charging infrastructure or similar electrical power supply projects.
• Capability to develop and implement ISO 9001 and ISO 45001:2018 compliant quality and safety management systems.
• Ability to provide comprehensive quality control and contract quality management documentation.
• Knowledge of local content and import content declaration procedures, including supporting documentation and certificates.
• Experience in applying CPA mechanisms for local and foreign goods/services.
• Capacity to meet Eskom’s environmental, health, and safety standards, including mandatory safety documentation.
• Strong project management skills, including adherence to deadlines, documentation, and contractual obligations.
