Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a competent, qualified, and accredited service provider to deliver comprehensive hygiene services for Johannesburg Tourism Company (JTC) over a period of three years. The successful provider will be responsible for providing hygiene services, including sanitary waste disposal, to specified facilities within Johannesburg, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and facilitating continuous improvement in hygiene standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of full hygiene services at designated facilities within Johannesburg, specifically at Sandton Library (4th Floor and Ground Floor VIC Office) and Johannesburg Tourism Offices at Nelson Mandela Square.
• Disposal of sanitary waste and other hygiene-related waste in compliance with licensing requirements.
• Regular toilet hygiene servicing, including cleaning, disinfecting, descaling, and maintaining high-touch surfaces.
• Installation and maintenance of hygiene dispensers and sanitary disposal units.
• Provision of consumables such as hand towels and toilet paper (if applicable).
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, including SABS compliance.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Routine sanitisation of toilets during each visit, including cleaning, disinfecting, descale, and treating with bactericidal agents.
• Weekly servicing of hygiene facilities, including removal and replacement of bins, use of antimicrobial liners, and sanitary waste collection and disposal.
• Installation of hygiene dispensers and sanitary disposal units, with the ability to increase units as needed.
• Supply of consumables such as paper towels and toilet tissue, compliant with SABS standards.
• Provision of labour for off-loading, delivery, and maintenance of hygiene equipment.
• Proper waste collection, transport, and disposal through licensed facilities.
• Adherence to specified service frequencies and delivery timelines.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Accreditation and registration with relevant health and safety standards, including SABS compliance.
• Proven experience in hygiene and sanitation services, particularly in managing sanitary waste disposal.
• Ability to demonstrate sufficient cash flow to manage project execution from start to finish without upfront payments.
• Capability to provide trained personnel for cleaning, maintenance, and waste disposal services.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to hygiene services.
• Ability to supply and install hygiene equipment and consumables as specified.
• Competence in managing service delivery within the specified timeframes and service standards.
