Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a suitably experienced service provider to curate, source, and co-facilitate the International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) program at Iziko Slave Lodge Museum. The program aims to promote transgender visibility, education, and community healing by utilizing film screenings, facilitated dialogues, and educational activities that connect historical context with contemporary issues of gender identity and human rights.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Planning and coordination of the TDOV event scheduled for 31 March 2026 at the Slave Lodge.
• Development of pre-event content, including prompts and educational materials.
• Managing logistics such as participant transportation, catering, and venue setup.
• Facilitating film screenings and post-screening discussions to foster understanding and dialogue.
• Providing high-level facilitation linking historical disenfranchisement with contemporary trans visibility.
• Documenting the event through professional photography and videography, including editing and delivery of images and videos.
• Ensuring accessibility and respectful engagement with diverse communities, especially marginalized groups.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the program include:

• Coordination of event logistics, including sourcing facilitators, educators, and film licensing agents.
• Provision of a suitable environment for approximately 60 participants from various regions.
• Management of film screenings, facilitated reflections, and community engagement activities.
• On-site support for setup, implementation, and post-event strike.
• Provision of catering services for registration, tea breaks, and lunch.
• Professional photography capturing diverse perspectives, with high-resolution images delivered within 5-8 days post-event.
• Videography capturing the event in 4K resolution, producing a highlight reel (60-90 seconds) and four vertical reels for social media, with final edits including branding and licensed music.
• Compliance with all logistical, safety, and accessibility standards as specified by Iziko.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in event coordination, particularly in cultural, educational, or LGBTQIA+ contexts.
• Expertise in queer and transgender advocacy, with a track record of community engagement and educational facilitation.
• Ability to develop sensitive and impactful content that bridges historical narratives with contemporary social issues.
• Technical proficiency in professional photography and videography, including editing and post-production skills.
• Strong project management skills to handle logistics, stakeholder coordination, and timely delivery of all components.
• Capacity to ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and respectful engagement with diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of heritage sites and experience working within museum or cultural institution environments is advantageous.
