Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply and deliver hygiene services, including toilet hygiene and sanitary services, to Johannesburg Water's Training Centre. The aim is to ensure hygienic conditions, proper waste collection, disposal, and related occupational health and safety standards.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of toilet hygiene and sanitary products such as hand paper towels, hand soap refills, air fresheners, toilet seat and urinal sanitisers, and waste bins with liners.
• Collection, safe disposal, and submission of waste disposal certificates for five waste bins bi-weekly over 12 months starting from 1st September 2026.
• Compliance with waste transportation registration and permits from the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (GDARDE).
• Adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental standards during service delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of specified hygiene products on a once-off basis and waste collection services as per the detailed specifications.
• Registration with relevant authorities for waste transportation and compliance with environmental permits.
• Wear PPE (e.g., PVC gloves) during waste collection activities.
• Use of PPE, proper handling, and disposal of waste in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Implementation of safety measures during waste collection, including PPE, vehicle safety, and hazard management.
• Adherence to occupational health and safety protocols, including risk assessments, safe working procedures, and emergency management plans.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires bidders to demonstrate:

• Registration with the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment for waste transportation permits.
• Competence in occupational health and safety management, including baseline risk assessments, safe work procedures, and emergency response planning.
• Experience in handling sanitary waste, including medical waste, with proper segregation, handling, and disposal procedures.
• Qualified personnel such as a site supervisor and safety officer with relevant appointments, CVs, and certificates.
• Compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements related to hygiene services, waste management, and occupational health and safety.
• Ability to provide proof of company registration, valid permits, and relevant certifications.
