Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and install low voltage (LV) cabling, instruments, and repair of the MCC panels at the Northern Works for the Unit 4 Raw Sludge project. The aim is to ensure proper electrical infrastructure, instrumentation, and panel functionality to support the wastewater treatment processes, complying with safety, quality, and technical standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of electrical panels, instruments, and associated materials.
• Installation and commissioning of LV cabling, panels, and instruments.
• Repair and modification of MCC panels, including removal and replacement of components.
• Site work including cable management, cable termination, and associated civil works such as pavement reinstatement and excavation.
• Provision of technical support, testing, and documentation as per specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply of specific panels such as Incomer, Raw Sludge, Mixer, and MCC panels with specified features (e.g., surge protection, meters, relays).
• Installation of LV cabling, cable management systems, and associated accessories.
• Provision of instruments including ultrasonic level controllers, sensors, meters, and protection devices.
• Compliance with relevant standards (e.g., SANS 10142-1, SANS 60439 series, IEC standards).
• Installation of fire protection systems, surge arrestors, and safety devices.
• Adherence to safety, quality control, and environmental standards, including SHE requirements.
• Testing and commissioning of all installed equipment, including factory and site acceptance tests.
• Provision of detailed drawings, data sheets, and as-built documentation.

Skills Requirements

The contractor must possess:

• Qualified electrical contractors registered in terms of relevant regulations.
• Competence in installing, wiring, and commissioning LV electrical systems, panels, and instrumentation.
• Experience in working with high-current busbars, switchgear, and control devices.
• Ability to perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Knowledge of safety standards, SHE procedures, and risk management.
• Capability to prepare and submit detailed technical drawings, risk assessments, and quality control plans.
• Qualified personnel for working at heights, confined spaces, and handling hazardous environments.
• Experience in civil works related to cable laying, pavement reinstatement, and civil civil civil civil works.
