Objectives

The service provider should:

• Supply high-quality organic soil conditioners and plant protectors that are approved and certified as organic products in South Africa by recognized bodies such as SAOSO, PGS, Ecocert, AFRISCO, etc.
• Supply greenhouse plastics and nets for shade net-houses of quality, ensuring all organic inputs have traceable registration numbers and pesticides have L registration numbers.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of organic soil conditioners, plant protectors, greenhouse plastics, and nets as specified.
• Delivery of these inputs to the designated location.
• Ensuring all products are labeled with application instructions.
• Offering smaller packages that cumulatively meet the specified quantities.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Organic compost (30dm³) – 1000 units
• Organic pesticides for various pests (aphids, mites, beetles, white flies, etc.) – quantities ranging from 50 to 50 liters
• Limestone ammonia (50kg) with 28% nitrogen – 100 units
• Insecticides for leaf miner, armyworm, ants, termites, cutworm, and other insects – quantities specified
• All pesticides must display registration numbers indicating they are registered in South Africa.

Skills and Certification Requirements

The service provider must:

• Ensure products are certified organic by recognized bodies.
• Provide traceability registration numbers on all organic inputs.
• Comply with South African standards (e.g., SANS 1369 of 2016 or equivalent).
• Offer products in packages that meet specified quantities and quality standards.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards such as SABS where specified.
• Possess relevant certifications such as B-BBEE certificates or sworn affidavits.
• Ensure pesticides have valid registration numbers and are compliant with local organic farming regulations.
• Have personnel with knowledge of organic farming standards and certification processes.
