Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install a steel palisade fence and gate at Wendywood Play Park, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The project aims to enhance security and safety features of the park through the provision of durable fencing and gate infrastructure.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of steel palisade fencing and gates as specified in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• General civil, electrical, glazing, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and fire systems related to the fencing works.
• Site inspection, preparation, and compliance with occupational health & safety regulations.
• Removal of damaged materials and debris, with disposal at registered dump sites.
• Provision of all necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe of one month.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to CIDB grading of 1GB/1SQ.
• Compliance with specifications for steel palisade fencing, including 76mm x 76mm x 2mm square tubing, steel spikes, and lockable gates.
• Use of approved concrete mixes (20 MPa, 19mm graded) and steel components as per manufacturer instructions and SANS standards.
• Painting of steel structures with two coats of enamel paint (green color).
• Implementation of occupational health & safety measures, including safety plans, scaffolding, dust screens, and hazard management.
• Provision of necessary certifications such as Certificates of Compliance (COC) for electrical, plumbing, roofing, and glazing works.
• Insurance coverage for the duration of the project, including contract works insurance and public liability.
• Environmental management and waste disposal in accordance with regulations.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from service providers include:

• CIDB grading of 1GB/1SQ.
• Experience in fencing, civil, electrical, and structural works related to steel palisade fencing.
• Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations and ability to develop and implement safety plans.
• Capability to prepare and submit all necessary compliance documents, including COID certificates, JV agreements (if applicable), and regulatory permits.
• Proficiency in project management to ensure timely completion within the one-month contract period.
• Ability to coordinate site inspections, attend compulsory site meetings, and adhere to environmental and safety standards.
• Provision of qualified personnel for installation, welding, painting, and quality assurance tasks.
