Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install a 10,000-liter water tank at the FSNW office within the NHLS Braamfontein complex. The project aims to ensure reliable water storage and supply for the facility, adhering to specified technical and safety standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of a 10,000-liter water tank and associated components.
• Installation of the water tank, foundation, piping, pumps, and related infrastructure.
• Provision of electrical and plumbing connections, including pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Construction of foundation, trenching, and site preparation.
• Implementation of water purification and filtration systems as specified.
• Compliance with technical, safety, and quality standards outlined in the tender documents.
• Coordination with hospital operations to minimize disruption during installation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

1. Provision of all necessary materials, including the water tank, foundation, piping, valves, pumps, and filtration systems.
2. Construction of a secure concrete foundation (2000mm x 2000mm x 300mm high).
3. Supply and installation of a 10,000L green water tank with a ball valve, stay wires, and secure bolting.
4. Trenching (400mm deep) for water pipes from the hospital/lab outlet to the tank, including re-fitting paving bricks or slabs.
5. Installation of polypropylene pipes, non-return valves, shut-off valves, and bypass arrangements.
6. Installation of a stainless steel inline water pump (similar to Epic Pentax), pressure sensors, gauges, and filtration units.
7. Electrical connections including a 30A isolator, circuit breakers, and wiring compliant with SABS standards.
8. Provision of water purification systems with filtration units rated at 2700 liters/hour, including maintenance and filter change protocols.
9. Provision of contingency funds and project supervision to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
10. Compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
11. Adherence to the specifications for plumbing, electrical, and structural components as detailed in the tender documentation.
