Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing and replacement of air-conditioning units at Sundumbili Community Health Centre and associated facilities. The aim is to ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and installation of air-conditioning systems to support the health center's operational needs.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Servicing of existing air-conditioning units as per attached specifications.
• Replacement and installation of new air-conditioning units at various locations within Sundumbili CHC and satellite clinics.
• Electrical work related to the installation and re-installation of air-conditioning units, including wiring, conduit, and associated electrical components.
• Site visits, site inspections, and adherence to safety and health regulations during installation and servicing.
• Provision of all materials, labour, and related services necessary to complete the work in accordance with specifications and standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Servicing of air-conditioning units as per the attached specifications and standards.
• Replacement of various types of air-conditioning units, including split units (12k BTU, 36k BTU, 42k BTU, 36,000 BTU), and other specified models across multiple clinics.
• Electrical connections, including conduit, copper pipes, power skirting, and installation of isolators and control units with a minimum guarantee of 5 years for compressors.
• Compliance with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), Occupational Health and Safety Act, and relevant electrical and building regulations.
• Provision of certificates of compliance upon completion.
• Site visits prior to tendering to assess existing conditions and plan installation work.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified electrical and air-conditioning technicians with relevant certifications and trade tests.
• Experience in servicing and installing split air-conditioning units, including electrical wiring and system integration.
• Knowledge of South African standards and regulations related to electrical and HVAC installations.
• Ability to prepare safety plans, risk assessments, and conduct regular safety inspections in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Capability to provide technical support, warranty services, and maintenance for the installed units.
• Proven track record in executing similar projects within healthcare or public sector facilities.
