Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of air-conditioning units at Sundumbili Community Health Centre (CHC). The aim is to ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of air-conditioning systems within the facility, supporting a conducive environment for healthcare delivery.

Scope

The scope of the contract includes:

• Servicing of air-conditioning units as per attached specifications and list.
• Replacement and installation of air-conditioning units where necessary.
• Carrying out electrical and mechanical work related to air-conditioner servicing and installation.
• Ensuring all work is completed within the specified contract period, with minimum disruption to hospital operations.
• Providing a guarantee period of at least 12 months for all work and materials.
• Site visits, technical assessments, and compliance with all relevant standards and safety regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Servicing of all specified air-conditioning units, including cleaning, inspection, and maintenance.
• Replacement of faulty or outdated units with new units of specified capacity (e.g., 12K BTU, 36K BTU, 42K BTU, etc.).
• Installation of new units with appropriate electrical connections, conduit, copper pipes, and accessories.
• Compliance with South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and other relevant standards for electrical and refrigeration work.
• Provision of certificates of compliance post-installation.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including preparation of safety plans and risk assessments.
• Guarantee of at least 12 months on all installed units and work.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified technicians with relevant trade certifications (e.g., electrical, refrigeration, or HVAC trade test diplomas).
• Experience in servicing and installing air-conditioning systems in healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of South African standards and regulations related to electrical and refrigeration work.
• Ability to prepare and submit safety plans, risk assessments, and compliance certificates.
• Capacity to undertake site assessments, re-measurements, and detailed technical work.
• Provision of proof of previous similar work, valid CIDB certificates, and relevant company registration documents.
