Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider for the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance-ready handover of high-efficiency inverter-driven split air-conditioning units for commercial and office use at Carlow Road, Building 1, 1st floor.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of air conditioners as per the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Use of only copper refrigerant pipes and blue PVC drainpipes.
• Mounting condensing units on ground floor or roof for easy maintenance access.
• Provision of refrigeration compliance documentation and electrical certification for each installation.
• Submission of full technical datasheets demonstrating compliance with specifications.
• Provision of a safety file approved by CSIR SHEQ Department prior to work commencement.
• Completion of work within 10 working days after receiving the purchase order.
• Provision of a minimum twelve (12)-month warranty on all installed units and components.
• Liability for latent defects, with rectification at the supplier’s cost within a period of twelve (12) months from installation.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• SAQCC registration level B6.
• Units with factory-rated nominal cooling capacities under ISO/SANS testing conditions.
• Efficiency optimization via variable-speed inverter modulation and load-adaptive compressor control (MEPS).
• Compressors designed to minimize friction, incorporate vibration and noise suppression, rated for high ambient operation (up to 46°C), and factory-manufactured.
• Ultra-low noise operation and wide air distribution.
• Multi-stage filtration including fine particulate and allergen filters.
• Advanced air treatment technology for humidity control.
• Refrigerant piping with specified standards.
• Minimum 1–3 year parts warranty and guaranteed spare parts availability for at least 7 years.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

• Registration with the CIDB at grade 1ME or higher, or capable of being registered prior to submission.
• Proof of SAQCC registration level B6.
• Provision of refrigeration compliance certificates issued by SAQCC Gas registered practitioners.
• Submission of technical datasheets demonstrating compliance with all specifications.
• Ability to complete installation within the specified timeframe.
• Provision of references and proof of relevant experience in similar scope of work within the last ten years.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including submission of a safety file.
• Capability to provide ongoing maintenance and warranty services post-installation.
