Objectives

The primary objective of this quotation is to procure and deliver essential plumbing materials, fittings, fixtures, and related hardware to Christ the King Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The procurement seeks to ensure the timely provision of compliant, high-quality goods to support routine hospital maintenance and infrastructure repairs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a comprehensive range of plumbing items, including copper and PVC pipes, couplings, clamps, toilet suites, shower components, fasteners, hand tools, safety equipment, and cleaning supplies. This is a once-off contract requiring full delivery within one month of the official order date. All quoted prices must be inclusive of transport, labour, and profit, with delivery strictly limited to the hospital premises.

Technical Requirements

• Product Specifications: All goods must match the detailed bill of quantities provided, adhering to exact sizes, quantities, and descriptions listed across 82 line items.
• Quality & Compliance: Every item must be SABS approved. Products must be new, unused, and free from manufacturing defects. Expired or second-hand goods are strictly prohibited, with a minimum shelf-life validity of six months where applicable.
• Documentation & Samples: Bidders must submit clear picture samples for specific items (toilet suite and washline poles) alongside their quotation. Mandatory administrative submissions include the Bidder’s Disclosure form (SBD4), Preference Points Claim Form (SBD6.1), an updated Central Supplier Database (CSD) compliance report, and current CIPC registration documents.
• Packaging & Delivery: Goods must be securely packaged to prevent transit damage and delivered to the designated hospital location. Late quotations will be automatically rejected.

Skills Requirements

No specialized installation, technical commissioning, or after-sales maintenance skills are required, as this is strictly a supply contract. However, bidders must demonstrate robust logistical and commercial capabilities, including inventory management, freight coordination, and on-time delivery execution. Suppliers must maintain active tax clearance, hold valid Central Supplier Database registration, and possess sufficient financial and operational capacity to fulfill the entire order independently without reliance on unapproved subcontractors.
