Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the supply, removal, and installation of air conditioning units at the Auckland Park Campus, specifically for the C-Ring PSYCAD and APK e-Les computer labs. The project aims to replace obsolete systems with environmentally friendly and efficient air conditioning solutions, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of new air conditioning units that meet specified technical and environmental standards.
• Removal and decommissioning of existing outdated systems, including safe disposal or recycling.
• Installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of the new units, ensuring operational readiness.
• Provision of after-sales support, warranty services, and maintenance as specified.
• Updating supplier registration details and ensuring compliance with Oracle Cloud application procedures.

The scope also encompasses mandatory documentation, adherence to health and safety regulations, and compliance with environmental and legal standards throughout the project duration.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of environmentally friendly refrigerants, specifically phasing out R22 systems.
• Units must comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993), SANS standards, and Best Industry Practices.
• Equipment must be of high quality, fit for purpose, and free from Defects, with warranties covering the lifespan of the units.
• Installation must follow specified procedures, including gas handling, electrical and mechanical connections, and safety protocols.
• Installation, commissioning, and testing must be documented, with clear schedules and timelines provided.
• Units must meet noise emission standards (not exceeding 85 dB(A)) and include measures for noise reduction where applicable.
• Support and maintenance services must be provided, including spare parts, repairs, and warranty support for a specified period.
• All supplied equipment and materials must be compliant with relevant standards, properly packaged, and labeled.
• Suppliers must update their Oracle Cloud registration, including time zone settings, prior to bid submission.

Additional technical requirements include adherence to specifications outlined in the tender documents, evaluation criteria, and compliance with applicable laws and policies related to environmental protection, health and safety, and intellectual property rights.
