Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver specified materials as detailed in the attached RFQ, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and procurement policies. The goal is to procure quality materials efficiently to support Johannesburg Water's operational needs while promoting specific goals such as supporting SMMEs and black-owned enterprises.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various rubber gaskets, bolts, nuts, and related materials to multiple Johannesburg Water depots (Southdale and Langlaagte). The materials include rubber gaskets of different sizes and types, stainless steel bolts and nuts of various dimensions, and other related components, all in accordance with specified standards (e.g., ISO 4014). The procurement covers multiple quantities and specifications as listed in the RFQ, with delivery to designated depots within the Johannesburg Water network.

Technical Requirements

• All materials must conform to specified standards, such as ISO 4014 for bolts and nuts.
• Items must be brand-named, with manufacturer datasheets provided; failure to do so will result in disqualification.
• Materials should be suitable for use in water infrastructure, including rubber and stainless steel components.
• Samples may be requested prior to order confirmation.
• All quotations must be inclusive of applicable taxes.
• Specific items include rubber gaskets (full face, reinforced, with specified thickness), stainless steel bolts and nuts of various sizes, and high-tensile T-bolts.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to supply materials that meet technical specifications and standards.
• Provision of manufacturer datasheets and brand names for all items is mandatory.
• Suppliers should have experience in supplying water infrastructure materials, with proven capacity to deliver within specified quantities and timeframes.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including supply chain management and BBBEE requirements, is essential.
• Suppliers must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provide relevant registration proof.
• Ability to provide samples for quality verification if requested.
• Understanding of Johannesburg Water’s supply chain policies and adherence to legal and ethical procurement practices.
