The primary objective of this tender is the procurement and delivery of one (01) medium back support ergonomic chair for operational use by Statistics South Africa.
The scope covers the supply, transportation, and handover of a single ergonomic office chair. All delivery costs must be factored into the quoted price, with delivery to the prescribed destination. The successful bidder will be required to execute a formal written contract upon award. Bids must remain valid for thirty (30) days from the closing date, and only firm pricing is acceptable.
No specific technical, professional, or installation skills requirements are stipulated. As this is a straightforward supply of standard office furniture, bidders are expected to possess basic logistical capabilities to ensure safe packaging, transportation, and delivery to the designated site.
Preferential Procurement (80/20 System): Tender evaluation utilises an 80/20 scoring model, allocating 80 points for price competitiveness and 20 points for designated socio-economic goals. Preference points are calculated based on verified equity ownership percentages held by Black individuals (maximum 10 points), women (maximum 5 points), youth aged 14–35 (maximum 3 points), and persons with disabilities (maximum 2 points). Claiming these points requires certified supporting documentation, including identity documents, company registration records, Central Supplier Database reports, and HPCSA-registered medical certificates where applicable.
Tax and Compliance: Bidders must demonstrate tax compliance via a SARS-issued Tax Compliance Status PIN or provide a valid Central Supplier Database number. Foreign-based suppliers must complete additional residency and taxation questionnaires. All submissions require signed anti-collusion, bidder disclosure, and conflict-of-interest declarations. Non-compliance may result in disqualification, contract cancellation, or restriction from public sector procurement for up to ten years.
Pricing Structure: Line-item prices must be exclusive of Value-Added Tax, while the grand total must include VAT at 15% for formally registered vendors. Non-firm pricing or prices subject to exchange rate fluctuations will be rejected. Delivery costs must be fully absorbed into the bid price.

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.
Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements
To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting
